Your truck may have an aluminum diff cover, and this axle may have a steel one or vice versa it makes no difference, just how they were ordered from Ford.

It does not make a difference if your truck is four-wheel drive or two-wheel drive. The rear axles are the same between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive models.

If your truck is 4wd you need to make sure the gear ratio matches the front, if your truck is 2wd you can put a different ratio axle in but your speedo will be off a little.
